London Chic Storefronts Honored The Chelsea Flower Show

The Royal Horticultural Society sponsors 12 flower shows throughout the year, including Chatsworth in June, Hyde Hall at the end  of July and Rosemoor in August. But there is only one Chelsea Flower Show. It takes place in May. It attracts participation from the Royal family. And it is huge.

This year, the Cambridges (Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and her family) were most prominent and attracted the most attention early on, certainly adding a dash of glamour, even though her display was short on flowers and long on logs and wood chips, and was in fact called “Back to Nature.”

In the spirit of things, London’s most chic shops on its High Street pulled out the stops and saluted the occasion with their own floral displays. I was there and amused by the wit of what they did. Here are a few of the examples I found.  Jill Brooke
